(Allendale, Mich. & Napierville, Ill.) Last chance weekend brought some outstanding performances and the Cornerstone T&F women put in their final tune up events before the NAIA Outdoor Championships.
Split between the GVSU Second to Last Chance meet and the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College, things got started with the 800 meters at Grand Valley. Julie Oosterhouse followed the field through the first 400 meters, then pulled ahead going into the wind on the backstretch. She extended her lead to ten meters at the finish, winning the heat. Her time of 2:12.29 took another two seconds off her school and freshman record and was seventh overall, beating several runners from the fastest heat.
Next, Audry Yonge took five seconds off her PR in the 1500 meters putting herself third on the CU all-time list with her 4:49.78.
