(Louisville, Ky.) The Cornerstone Cross Country team traveled to Louisville for the first time in three years to compete in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. They faced tremendous competition and raced well.
Zach Ripley stuck to the back of the large lead pack and finished 27th in 24:44, knocking twelve seconds off his personal best. Alex Green took 68th in 25:25 followed by Stephan Larson's 26:14 in 154th. Billy Carl made the most of his season debut taking over 45 seconds off his PR while running 26:42 for 202nd. Travis Mabe completed the team scoring with an 8 second PR of 27:17 for 249th. Other CU finishers included Jared Courtright (27:33 / 264th), Cody Risch (27:35 / 266th), Adam Looman (28:06 / 286th) and Darryl Sluka (28:52 / 306) in the field of 336 finishers.
The Golden Eagles placed 20th in the 38 team field dominated by NCAA division I schools. Cornerstone was the second NAIA team in the race, one place behind McKendree.
