(Tucson, Ariz.) The Golden Eagles played William Penn (IA) in their first game today and came away with another 4-3 loss. Cornerstone lost to #15 Olivet Nazarene by the same score the night before. William Penn scored in the bottom of the second inning to go up 1-0. The Golden Eagles tied it up in the top of the third inning. Tahni Bruno doubled to start the inning and later scored on an error to make it 1-1. The Lady Statesmen reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the third inning with a run and scored one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings to go up 4-1. Cornerstone scored two unearned runs in the top of the seventh to make the final 4-3.

Cornerstone took their first lead of the season with a four run first inning against Judson. Madison Bucilla had 2 RBI's on a double, Megan Oberst had an RBI single, and the Golden Eagles scored an unearned run in the inning. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as the Eagles scored five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-4 lead. Cornerstone responded with two runs in the top of the second inning. Kaitlyn Carlson had an RBI single and Tahni Bruno scored on a passed ball to put the Golden Eagles up 6-5. Judson tied the score 6-6 in the bottom of the second inning. Cornerstone reclaimed the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Heidi Warmelink tripled to start the inning and Madison Bucilla brought her home with a double. Judson would tie it at 7-7 in the bottom half of the fourth inning and would score three more in the bottom of the fifth to go up 10-7. Cornerstone scored one run in the sixth inning but that would be all they would get as they fell 10-8 to the Eagles. Madison Bucilla went 3 for 4 at the plate with three RBI's for Cornerstone.

Cornerstone will have the day off tomorrow and will return to action on Thursday when they take on Purdue North Central (IL) and Northwestern (IA).
