Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff are excited to announce the signing of Geren Albury, a shortstop from Christian Home and Bible School in Mount Dora, Florida. Born and raised in the Bahamas, Geren moved to Mount Dora two years ago and has become a fixture at shortstop for the Bulldogs. The left-handed hitter hit .396 as a junior and is off to a fantastic start to his senior season. The slick fielding Albury hopes to be one of the foundational pieces in the baseball program at Cornerstone.
When asked about his choice of Cornerstone University, Geren said, "I chose it because I love the Christian atmosphere and I want to play at a place and in a way to glorify God. I want to be a part of a program where I can help build camaraderie with my teammates and hopefully compete for a championship right away."
Coach Mitroff said, "We are thrilled to bring Geren Albury aboard the Cornerstone University baseball team. We believe that he will be an impact player from the moment he steps on campus. He is an excellent player, leader, teammate, and student and we believe he will make an impact to our university that is beyond baseball."
