Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff are excited to announce the signing of Justin LaForest, an infielder from Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Michigan. Justin hit .314 last spring with a .471 on base percentage and stole seven bases without being thrown out. He spent the summer playing with the Jet Box Baseball Club where he hit .371 with ten stolen bases.
When asked about his choice of Cornerstone University, Justin said, "During my visit to Cornerstone, the professors, staff, students, and even the President of the college were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere on the Cornerstone campus gave me the feeling that I will feel comfortable and make a smooth transition into college life. I believe that opportunities abound at Cornerstone and with the Lord by my side, I will make the most of every opportunity that comes my way. I am excited to be a part of the baseball team at CU and I hope to be an important part and frequent contributor to a top notch infield."
Coach Mitroff said, "We project Justin as a 2nd baseman who will excel with his good glove and a good approach at the plate. He has some pop in his bat and runs the bases well. A hard worker and good student, we believe that Justin LaForest is a great fit here at Cornerstone University."
