GAME FLOW

The Golden Eagles travelled over to Davenport to take on the Panthers in another big WHAC game.  Cornerstone lost 81-80 to Davenport in their first meeting.  The two teams battled back and forth early in the game and ended up tied 13-13 after 7:20.  Wes Hudson drained a 3-pointer just :15 seconds after that and they would go on to make 9-1 run to push the lead to 8 points (22-14).  The Golden Eagles would get to as many as 9 in the first half but the Panthers would claw their way back into the game and would tie the game at 33-33.  Cornerstone (Ty Mason) would hit another 3-pointer after the tie and they would go on to take a 44-37 lead at the half after a Ben Lanning 3-pointer.  Lanning came out in the second half and drained another 3-pointer to push the lead to 47-37 at 18:29.  Cornerstone would make an 8-0 run in the next :45 seconds on 3's by Travis Wells and Anthony Allen along with a Jake Plite basket.  The Panthers responded immediately with a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 59-49.  Davenport would get the lead down to as low as 7 (61-54) but they would not be able to get under that for the rest of the game.  Cornerstone made a 12 -4 run over the next 6 minutes to push the lead back to double digits (73-58).  The Panthers would get the lead back to single digits (77-68) with 2:07 left in the game but that would be as close as the would get on the night.  Seniors Anthony Allen and Wes Hudson both made four foul shots down the stretch to seal the victory for the Golden Eagles.  Wes Hudson led all scorers with 27 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor which included 2 of 3 from long range.  He also made 11 for 11 from the charity stripe.
