The Golden Eagles had to erase a 19 point first half deficit to come back and defeat Northwestern Ohio 84-81 down in Lima back on Nov. 19th. Tonight they had only a 10 point deficit to overcome but they found a way to do it again. Cornerstone took the early lead tonight with a 5-0 run to start the game and then kept the lead until the 12:50 mark of the first half. The Racers tied the score at 12:12 and again a16-16 before taking the lead for the remainder of the half at 10:38. The Racers would push the lead to 10 points (28-18) with 7:37 left in the half. Cornerstone made a 18-3 run to cut the lead to 31-26 with 3:54 on the clock but the Racers would not let the Golden Eagles any closer as they finish the half down 38-31. The Golden Eagles came out hot in the second half and cut the lead 2 (40-38) after the first minute of play and Wes Hudson had a change to put Cornerstone ahead on a 3-pointer but his attempt would not fall. The Racers quickly pushed the lead back to 46-38 with 17:35 on the clock. The action was end to end and face paced as the Golden Eagles worked their way back. Wes Hudson tied the game at 52-52 at the 13:55 mark. The Golden Eagles made an 8-0 run after the tie to go up 60-52 about midway through the second half. It then became the Wes Hudson – Ed Jenkins show as the two of them hit big shot after big shot through the remainder of the second half of play. Cornerstone gradually began to get away from Northwestern over the next 8 ½ minutes and built the lead to 76-63 with 1:22 left in the game but Cornerstone got a little careless and the Racers made a run to get the score down to one possession (82-79) after Ed Jenkins sank 3 free throws after being fouled beyond the arc with :13 second left on the clock. Wes Hudson got fouled and sank two foul shots with :07 left and Northwestern missed a couple of 3 point attempts as the clock ran out and Cornerstone walked off with an 84-79 victory over Northwestern Ohio. Ed Jenkins finished the game with 40 points and Wes Hudson finished with 39 points for the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles shot 59.3% from the floor in the second half. Wes Hudson score 32 of his 39 points in the second half of play. The Golden Eagles grabbed 10 more rebounds (41-31) than the Racers.
Cornerstone will travel over to Detroit to take on Marygrove on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
