Following a dominate 5-0 record last week that included wins against No. 17 Missouri Baptist College, No. 19 Grand View University and No. 22 Columbia College at the Missouri Baptist Tournament, the Cornerstone volleyball team received another conference weekly award. Junior middle hitter Cailie Johnson was honored as the WHAC volleyball player of the week for her third of the season. The announcement was made by the conference yesterday afternoon.
The Rockford native averaged 3.43 kills at a .452 attacking pace during the five matches while recording 72 kills, 32 digs, six serving aces, four solo blocks and 14 assisted blocks. Highlighting the week, Johnson was named to the Missouri Baptist All-Tournament Team while being honored as the tournament MVP.
After the successful 5-0 record last week, Cornerstone advances to 17-9 overall and 5-1 during conference play. Follow the Golden Eagles' volleyball squad when they travel to Concordia University on Wednesday. The match will take place at 7 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
