The Golden Eagles started well for the second game in a row but also gave up a goal in the 11th minute on the first shot against them to go down 1-0 early.  Cornerstone played pretty well in the first half but we just weren't connecting in the final third of the field.  The Cavs scored their second goal on a corner kick.  They hit a hard low shot and their was some miscommunication between the defense and the GK that resulted in a own goal being scored by Cornerstone.  The Golden Eagles went in down 0-2 after the half but were still confident that they could get back in the match.  The Golden Eagles pressed the Cavs and kept them in their defensive half of the field for most of the second half.  Cornerstone had good opportunities in the second half of play but didn't capitalize until Josie Litty scored on a 20 yard shot to bring Cornerstone to within one.  The Golden Eagles had a couple of quality chances to tie the score after that but they could't get the ball by the Cavs GK.  Cornerstone outshot Montreat 9-3 in the second half.  Cornerstone drops to 0-2 on the year with the loss.  Cornerstone will travel to Huntington (iN) to take on the Forresters of Huntington.  That game will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
