The Golden Eagles shot 41.5% from the field during the game compared to University of Northwestern Ohio's 49.1% shot percentage during Wednesday night's contest. Both squads turned the ball over 15 times while the Racers controlled the 19-13 assist advantage.
On Nov. 17, Cornerstone welcomed the University of Northwestern Ohio into Mol Arena. During the contest, Cornerstone edged the Racers after a 66 percent shooting clinic in the second half. The win gave the Golden Eagles their third win of the season and their first conference win. On Wednesday night, Cornerstone looked to repeat from earlier this season against UNOH. However after a solid 50 percent shooting from the Racers, the home team was not going to fall to Cornerstone a second time this season.
On the night, Cornerstone led by as many as eight points after a Wes Hudson three-pointer with 2:58 remaining in the first half. The Golden Eagles headed into halftime with a 45-40 advantage highlight Ty Mason's 13 points while UNOH's Derrick Tate also tallied 13 points. During the second half, the Racers took the lead off an Alex Lyle turnover and a Josh Scott Jumper making the score, 55-54, with 13 minutes remaining. With 3:53 remaining on the night, the score was tied for the ninth time at 69 apiece. The Golden Eagles went on a four-point run led by Wes Hudson hitting a pair of free throws; however, UNOH's Josh Scott sunk a two point jumper with 15 seconds remaining to give the advantage and the victory to the Racers, 76-75.
After the loss, Cornerstone drops to 13-7 overall and 7-5 during conference play. The Racers improve their overall record to 11-8 and their conference record to 7-5.
The Golden Eagles will get set to host Marygrove College on Saturday with game time set for 3 p.m.
