The Cardinals went to the line 22 times and made 18 of them while the Golden Eagles just made 2 of 6 from the charity stripe.

It was a defensive struggle today as the Golden Eagles took the Cardinals to the limit today.  The two teams went back and forth early but Ashley Niedermayer gave the Golden Eagles a 9-8 lead at 13:23.  Cornerstone would lead for the most of the remainder of the half.  Jill Hendrickson gave Cornerstone their biggest lead (17-10) with 9:17 left in the half.  The Cardinals ran off a 7 straight points to tie the game at 6:09.  Cornerstone would regain the lead and took a 22-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.  The two teams came out in the second half a little cold.  Concordia took the lead (27-26) at 15:02 and would keep that lead for the next 10 minutes.  Robyn Veltkamp tied the score at 38-38 and then hit a shot to take a 40-38 lead with 4:11.  Janae Trombley gave the Golden Eagles a five point lead at 3:33 and it looked like the Golden Eagles were going to pull the upset of #14 Cardinals but it wasn't meant to be.  Concordia reclaimed the lead (44-43) with 12 seconds on the clock.  Cornerstone got a couple of chances to win it but both shots came up short as the Cardinals escaped with the win.

The Golden Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they travel down to Fort Wayne to take on the Warriors of Indiana Tech at 5:30 p.m.
