The Golden Eagles started well tonight against the Wolves of UM-Dearborn scoring their first goal in the 28th minute of play. Matt Osorio hit a shot that the Wolves GK could not handle and Diego Bobadilla pounced on the rebound to score his first goal of the season. UM-Dearborn responded just eight minutes later to tie the score at 1-1 in the 36th minute of play. The Golden Eagles out shot the Wolves 7-4 in the first half. Cornerstone out shot UM-Dearborn 9-2 in the second half but the Wolves made the most of their opportunities scoring on their first shot of the half with 69:34 on the clock. The Golden Eagles responded immediately with a goal just :15 seconds later to bring the score to 2-2. Cornerstone would have some more chances in the half but couldn't find the back of the net. The Golden Eagles out shot the Wolves 4-1 in the first OT without scoring. It looked like the game would end in a tie when Jake Stanko got the game winner with just 1:43 left in the second overtime. Cornerstone improves to 7-2-1 overall and 5-0 in the WHAC while UM-Dearborn drops to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the WHAC. The Golden Eagles will travel to Livonia on Wednesday to take on who is 1-3-1 in the WHAC this year.
