The Golden Eagles played well and moved the ball well in the first half of play and went ahead 1-0 in the 25th minute on a Maile Carigon goal.  Rebecca Eggleston beat a player out on the right flank and served the ball into the box where Carigon headed the ball into the left side of the goal.  The lead lasted only about a minute as the Golden Eagles were caught in transition on a breakaway goal by Cardinal player Paige Beracy.  Cornerstone continued to pressure and had chances but couldn't convert before the halftime whistle.  Cornerstone conttinued to pressure the Cardinals in the second half but didn't score the game winner until the 80th minute when Teigan Mitcham put in a ball in a goal mouth scramble.  Mitcham had another chance but her header went just wide.  The Golden Eagles improved to 9-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WHAC.  Cornerstone will hit the road against newcomer Lawrence Tech on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
